Gift Packages and Messages of Support Delivered to High School Seniors
Supporting Students and Revitalizing the Local Economy Impacted by COVID-19
[Asia Economy, reporter Park Jongil] On May 5, the Yangcheon-gu Community Support Center (headed by District Mayor Kim Suyeong) held an event in front of the Haengbokhan Sesang Department Store plaza to cheer on high school seniors preparing for college entrance exams.
The district organized the event to support high school seniors who are going through a difficult time, as well as to help local small business owners impacted by COVID-19. Gift packages containing snacks and other items purchased from local small businesses were delivered to third-year high school students.
In addition, a variety of events were held, including the "Blow Away Your Study Stress" whack-a-mole game, and a campaign to post encouraging messages such as "#It'sOkay! You'll Do Great" on social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) using hashtags for verification.
Kim Suyeong, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "I hope this event provided a chance for high school seniors, who are experiencing confusion due to delays in the start of the school year caused by COVID-19, to relieve stress and recharge so they can focus on their studies. We also plan to continue developing various ways to support local small business owners, just as we did with this event."
