[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] The group Monsta X has postponed the release of their album due to member Shownu's back pain.
On the 4th, Monsta X's agency Starship Entertainment announced that the release of Monsta X's new album 'FANTASIA X' has been postponed to the 26th. The album was originally scheduled to be released on the 11th.
Regarding this, the agency stated, "Shownu of Monsta X recently felt pain in his back while practicing choreography ahead of the comeback, and immediately visited a hospital for examination and treatment. The diagnosis showed that normal daily activities are possible, but intense exercise and strenuous movements must be avoided, and for a quick recovery, physical therapy and injection treatments should be combined, according to the specialist's opinion."
About Shownu's condition, they said, "He is currently receiving intensive treatment and his symptoms have greatly improved. However, considering that the comeback schedule planned for next week could affect Shownu's recovery, we requested additional opinions from the specialist and received a response that more recovery time is needed before he can perform on stage."
They added, "We have made the final decision to postpone the album release to prioritize the artist's health and condition and to ensure there are no issues with future activities. The adjusted schedule for the comeback-related content release will be announced later. We ask for understanding and apologize to the fans who have been waiting for Monsta X's comeback."
