[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 28th that it will operate the nation's first 'VR-exclusive Disaster Safety Experience Vehicle' in line with the trends of the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
The VR Disaster Safety Experience Vehicle is a virtual reality disaster experience vehicle created by modifying an 8.5-ton truck by Gyeongnam Province. It was prepared to safely experience highly realistic disaster situations without time and space constraints and to enhance the response capabilities of residents in the event of an actual disaster.
Residents will experience various accidents through virtual reality (VR) and learn safety rules according to disaster-type manuals. Disaster situations that are difficult to experience directly in reality are realistically simulated, allowing participants to select and control scenarios to learn how to respond and the order of actions in disaster situations.
The VR content includes 10 types such as fire and earthquake evacuation in apartments, schools, and department stores, ship safety, fine dust, traffic safety, and subway fire escape, designed for six people to experience simultaneously. In particular, the fire and earthquake content is produced separately for children (students) and adults (teachers), enabling customized education according to the target participants.
The exterior of the vehicle is equipped with CPR and fire extinguisher simulators, allowing participants to practice CPR and fire extinguisher use while waiting for the VR experience.
The CPR experience can accommodate 24 people simultaneously, and during the experience, compression speed, count, and other factors are displayed in real-time on a monitor as scores and rankings, enabling participants to naturally learn the correct emergency treatment methods while enjoying the process.
The fire extinguisher usage and fire suppression experience is conducted after selecting a virtual space (such as public places or offices) that serves as the background on the monitor screen, and up to four people can participate simultaneously.
The operation of the VR Disaster Safety Experience Vehicle will be managed by the Gyeongnam Provincial Fire Headquarters, and in connection with the existing mobile safety experience vehicles, it will visit schools, kindergartens, and large event venues at 18 fire stations to take responsibility for safety education for students and residents.
