Gwangju City to Recruit Applicants for Gwangju Youth Dream Allowance from 13th to 22nd

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 10th that it is recruiting applicants for the ‘Gwangju Youth Dream Allowance and Activity Support Project,’ which supports job-seeking activities and living stability for unemployed local youth.

To expand participation opportunities for the youth and to provide effective counseling and education, a total of 1,120 people will be recruited, divided into 560 people each for the first and second half of the year.

The Youth Dream Allowance will be provided in the form of a monthly allowance of 500,000 KRW for five months, and a job-seeking capability program will be operated to enhance employment skills.

The recruitment target is unemployed youth aged 19 to 34 who reside in Gwangju, have graduated at least two years ago, have a household income within 150% of the median income, and have the willingness to seek employment.

Those working more than 30 hours per week, currently participating in the city’s youth policy projects, participants or dropouts of the 2018 Gwangju Youth Dream Allowance, and youth currently involved in government direct job projects are excluded.

Applications can be submitted on the ‘Gwangju Youth Dream’ website. Detailed information can be checked on the city’s website notice board starting from the 13th.

Son Ok-su, head of the Youth and Adolescents Division of the city, said, “Through the Gwangju Youth Dream Allowance, we will support youth who are struggling to enter society to regain their self-esteem and become independent,” adding, “We will meet with the applicants to more carefully understand the characteristics and needs of local youth and reflect them in future youth policies.”
