[Photo] Nowon-gu and Nowon Police Station Sign Mutual Exchange Agreement to Prevent Missing Persons with Disabilities

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) held a mutual exchange agreement ceremony with Nowon Police Station for the prevention of missing persons with disabilities at 10:30 a.m. on the 9th in the district mayor's office.

The agreement ceremony was arranged to establish infrastructure for the continuous operation of the missing persons prevention project for people with disabilities. Attended by District Mayor Oh Seung-rok, Nowon Police Chief Jeong Chae-min, and Chairman Lee Heung-joo of the Nowon-gu Disabled Persons' General Association, the event proceeded with guest introductions, progress reports, the mayor's greeting, the signing of the agreement, and commemorative photo sessions.

The agreement includes active mutual cooperation between the district office and the police station regarding the identification of high-risk individuals among those with intellectual, autism spectrum, and mental disabilities, linkage to welfare services, distribution of wandering detection devices and missing prevention education by the district office, and pre-registration of fingerprints for missing persons and education on response methods in case of disappearance by the police station.

The agreement period starts from the 9th and will remain effective unless either party requests termination.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, stated, “This agreement enables the efficient operation of the missing persons prevention project for people with disabilities,” and added, “We will do our best to establish a social safety net for socially vulnerable groups including people with disabilities.”
