[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Rapper Mamison warned against unauthorized use of works that evoke his image in connection with election campaigns of a specific political party.

Mamison's agency, Sameside Company, issued an official statement on the 8th, saying, "Ahead of the 21st National Assembly election, we confirmed through media reports that works of our artist Mamison and images reminiscent of Mamison are being used in the promotion of a candidate from a specific political party," and "We clearly state that Mamison is not participating in any promotion of any political party or candidate's election campaign activities at all."

They added, "No image or work of the artist may be used for political purposes without the consent of the artist and the company."

Earlier, a candidate sparked controversy by using an image reminiscent of Mamison on a general election promotional banner. It is known that the candidate did not obtain prior permission from Mamison for the use of the image.

Meanwhile, Mamison gained popularity after appearing on Mnet's "Show Me the Money 777" in 2018, releasing songs such as "Sonyeon Jump," "Song of the Stars," and "Vibes from Experience."
