[Asia Economy Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist Reporter] ○…The 'Returned Golf Emperor' Tiger Woods (USA) enjoyed the 'Champions Dinner' with his family...
On the 8th (Korean time), he posted a photo on Twitter with the caption "Quarantine Style Masters Champions Dinner." The 'Champions Dinner' is a unique tradition where the Masters winner invites all past champions to a dinner the following year. Originally scheduled for April, it was indefinitely postponed due to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States, but recently rescheduled to open on November 12.
In the photo, Woods placed the Masters trophy in the center of the table. He is wearing the green jacket and smiling brightly. However, only four people attended: his girlfriend Erica Herman, daughter Sam, and son Charlie. The menu was not disclosed either. It is interesting that Woods has already won five times: in 1997, 2001-2002 (back-to-back), 2005, and last year. In 1998, as the youngest champion, he chose kid-friendly foods like cheeseburgers, French fries, and milkshakes.
In 2002 and 2003, he elevated the menu with steak, chicken breast, and sushi, and in 2006, he served beef fajitas with Mexican fried rice and grilled beans. This year, in February, he revealed the menu as "steak-based with chicken fajitas, sushi, and sashimi." Chicken fajitas are a Mexican dish where finely chopped chicken is wrapped in a tortilla with vegetables and sauce. He added, "I'm considering including a milkshake for dessert like in 1998." If the Masters is held in November, he may add other seasonal dishes.
