Ministry of SMEs and Startups Opens Recruitment for 'Changgu Program Season 2' Participating Companies

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 8th that it is recruiting companies to participate in the 'Changgu Program Season 2' for the global expansion of startup companies.

This Changgu Program Season 2 was prepared to help startups scale up and enter the global market. Companies can apply online from the 9th of this month until 6 p.m. on May 7th.

The Changgu Program was planned using the initials of the Startup Leap Package and Google Play. It signifies serving as a gateway for startups to enter the global market.

Startups participating in this program can receive support such as government commercialization funds, one-on-one consulting with Google, and participation in networking events. Outstanding commercialization companies will also receive linked support for research and development (R&D).

Last year, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups launched 'Changgu Program Season 1' in collaboration with Google. It supported 60 startups, achieving expansion into 150 countries including the United States, Taiwan, and Russia.

This year, the Ministry plans to expand the scope of support and enhance the educational curriculum of the Changgu Program. The eligibility has been expanded from startups within 3 to 7 years to those within 7 years. The support scale will also increase to 80 companies. Seminars and other events will be held for all participating companies. A new 'Changgu Demo Day' will be held to invite domestic and international venture capitalists for follow-up investment attraction.
