[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Kookbo (CEO Ha Hyun, Lee Taehee), a KOSPI-listed company, and its subsidiary Bucksie (CEO Lee Taehee, Lee Jaejin) plan to provide safe airport pickup services for overseas arrivals.
Recently, due to the COVID-19 issue, overseas arrivals have faced travel restrictions and increased anxiety about using public transportation.
In response, Bucksie stated, “We will thoroughly disinfect vehicles and drivers before each operation to provide users with safe and professional transportation services.”
Until now, overseas arrivals took airport buses from the airport, got off at designated locations, and then moved to local health centers or homes through linked transportation managed by district offices in Seoul and Incheon or city, county, and district offices in Gyeonggi Province.
Going forward, it is being discussed that overseas arrivals will be able to move directly from the airport to health centers or drive-thru clinics within their residences using Bucksie’s vehicles to receive COVID-19 testing.
This transportation service is expected to prevent overseas arrivals who have difficulty using private cars from using public transportation, strengthen movement tracking management, alleviate citizens’ anxiety, and contribute to the government’s quarantine system.
Meanwhile, Bucksie is the first company in Korea to launch a rental car van call service with drivers for 11 to 15 passengers in June 2016, and in October 2017, it was legally approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as the only mobility service in Korea.
Bucksie has focused on airport services at Incheon, Gimpo, Gimhae, and Cheongju airports, as well as domestic and foreign tourist services such as golf, in accordance with the legal intent of the rental car van driver brokerage clause, providing convenient and safe transportation services to arrivals and departures, receiving high praise from many users.
In October last year, Kookbo, a listed company, acquired shares of Bucksie to become the largest shareholder, and from this year, Bucksie will start full-scale business operations with Kookbo. In particular, it plans to strengthen both B2B sectors such as corporate protocol and international events (MICE) and B2C sectors such as golf course services and foreign tourist services together with Kookbo’s subsidiaries.
