Yongsan-gu Reports 18th COVID-19 Case... Woman in Her 20s Arrives from France


[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seong Jang-hyun) has reported its 18th confirmed case of COVID-19.


The confirmed case is a woman in her 20s who arrived from France on the 3rd. She was tested at the Yongsan-gu screening clinic, and on the 5th at 12:00 PM, she received the final positive diagnosis.


The district is conducting an epidemiological investigation to further identify the infection route, movement paths, and additional contacts. The confirmed patient will be transferred to the Taereung Living Treatment Center isolation ward at 5:00 PM.


The main movement routes are as follows:


▣ April 3 (Fri)

- 14:30: Arrival at Incheon Airport (from France)

- 18:00~19:00: Visited Yongsan-gu Public Health Center screening clinic and specimen collection (pending result)

* Used airport special shuttle bus, wore a mask

- 19:20: Returned home * Used district office special shuttle bus, wore a mask

▣ April 4 (Sat)

- 15:44~15:58: Visited Yongsan-gu Public Health Center screening clinic * Used taxi, wore a mask

- 16:00~16:40: Returned home * On foot, wore a mask

▣ April 5 (Sun)

- 12:00: Positive diagnosis

- 17:00: Admitted to Taereung Living Treatment Center


※ This is based on the first statement by the confirmed patient and may be further detailed following the epidemiological investigator’s inquiry.


The district will conduct disinfection of the patient’s home and nearby areas immediately upon the patient’s admission to the isolation hospital.


Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, emphasized, “We have strengthened management of those arriving from overseas to prevent community transmission of new confirmed cases,” and added, “We ask residents to avoid unnecessary outings and to strictly follow personal hygiene rules such as handwashing.”
