SK Broadband Donates COVID-19 Relief Funds to Daegu and Gyeongbuk Regions

[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] SK Broadband announced on the 5th that it will donate a total of 28.5 million KRW raised through an internal donation campaign to victims in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, aiming to help those struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

SK Broadband conducted a COVID-19 donation campaign targeting all employees through an internal notice from the 24th to the 27th of last month, with 1,044 participants.

The 28.5 million KRW raised through this campaign will be delivered to the Community Chest of Korea to support victims in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas.

SK Broadband voluntarily launched this campaign to encourage residents of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, designated as special disaster areas due to COVID-19, and to participate in social responsibility as members of the community. Choi Bong-gil, Head of Corporate Culture Group at SK Broadband, said, “We are grateful to the employees who provided the idea for the donation campaign and voluntarily participated to overcome the social crisis and share the pain. If companies, society, and all citizens unite their will, we will be able to overcome the current COVID-19 situation as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, SK Broadband is carrying out social responsibility activities to overcome COVID-19, including free operation of the ‘B tv Homeschooling Special Zone’ for children from preschool to 6th grade, free internet bandwidth upgrades in preparation for online classes at 22 universities, and one-month free support of the call center business solution ‘Cloud Contact Center’ for small and medium-sized enterprises.
