[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] At around 4:10 PM on the 4th, a fire that broke out at a furniture factory in Jinjeop-eup, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, spread to the nearby hillside, and forestry authorities are currently working to extinguish it.
So far, no casualties have been reported, but it is reported that two factory buildings (approximately 500㎡) were completely burned. Strong winds are blowing at the fire site, making firefighting efforts difficult.
According to the Gyeonggi Province Wildfire Prevention Headquarters, firefighting efforts involve four forestry helicopters, including one large-scale wildfire firefighting helicopter from the Korea Forest Service, and two wildfire firefighting helicopters from Gyeonggi Province. Additionally, 12 fire trucks, 2 ambulances, and more than 50 personnel have been deployed to focus on preventing the fire from spreading further.
