Gumi City Extends 'Gumi Sarang Gift Certificate' 10% Discount Event Until July

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Gumi City, Gyeongbuk announced on the 3rd that it will extend the special discount event for the 'Gumi Love Gift Certificate,' which was originally scheduled to run until the 10th of this month, until July to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and increase sales for small business owners.

During this period, the city will offer a 10% discount on the gift certificates and raise the individual discount purchase limit from the previous 400,000 won to 1,000,000 won.

Accordingly, the total issuance amount of Gumi City's gift certificates will be expanded from the existing 10 billion won to 20 billion won. They can be purchased at 116 locations including Daegu Bank, NongHyup, Livestock Cooperatives, and Saemaeul Geumgo.

The Gumi Love Gift Certificate, issued to revitalize the local commercial district, can only be used within Gumi City. Unlike the Onnuri Gift Certificate used in traditional markets, it can only be used at about 4,700 registered affiliated stores.

Jang Se-yong, mayor of Gumi City, said, "The distribution of the Gumi Love Gift Certificate is expected to invigorate the local commercial district and contribute to the recovery of the local economy."
