[Asia Economy Reporter Wondara] Yang Jeong-cheol, head of the Democratic Research Institute, expressed regret toward Kim Eui-gyeom, former Blue House spokesperson and proportional representation candidate of the Open Democratic Party, and Choi Kang-wook, former Blue House Secretary for Public Office Discipline.

On the morning of the 2nd, Yang attended the 'Go Min-jeong Candidate - Democratic Research Institute Pledge Implementation Policy Agreement Ceremony' held at the office of former Blue House spokesperson Go Min-jeong in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. When asked about his thoughts on them, he said, "I hope they had taken a deeper look at what the Roh Moo-hyun spirit, the Moon Jae-in spirit, and the spirit of the Democratic Party truly are before making such choices," expressing his regret.

The Democratic Party, which formed a proportional representation coalition party with the Together Citizens' Party, is drawing a line against the Open Democratic Party. On the 25th of last month, leader Lee Hae-chan criticized the Open Democratic Party, saying, "Do not falsely claim to be the Democratic Party." Kim Hong-gul, co-chairman of the Citizens' Party joint election countermeasures committee, also appeared on CBS Radio that morning and added, "The Open Democratic Party consists of people who left the Democratic Party due to dissatisfaction, so if they gain seats and receive government subsidies, they might pursue an independent path."

Meanwhile, Yang plans to begin active support by signing policy agreements with individual candidates, starting with candidate Go, as well as Park Seong-jun, former JTBC announcer and candidate for Jung-gu and Seongdong districts.

At the agreement ceremony, Yang said, "This election is a turning point to decide whether it is a fighting party or a working party, a party going backward or a party moving forward." He added, "Candidate Go is the ruling party's and President Moon Jae-in's secret weapon and a symbolic card we can be proud of. President Moon, who holds candidate Go in high regard, will be very pleased if she is elected."

Candidate Go and the Democratic Research Institute agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲ establishing an ICT startup hub around Guui Station ▲ supporting a shared living platform for single-person households ▲ creating an education and childcare complex cluster, among other initiatives.
