Tree Sponsorship for Urban Tree Planting Projects Proportional to Number of Participants

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] KB Kookmin Card announced on the 2nd that it has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government for the 'Tree Love Challenge Project,' which focuses on creating urban forests to reduce fine dust and supporting tree-planting campaigns through social networking services.

This agreement was established to strengthen ESG (Environment·Social·Governance) management by fulfilling corporate social responsibility and leading environmental protection, in line with KB Financial Group's key management strategy of ESG-based sustainable management.

According to this agreement, KB Kookmin Card will jointly conduct a tree-planting campaign through social networking services with the Seoul Metropolitan Government throughout April.

Participants can take photos of their companion trees planted at home and upload them to their social networking services (Instagram, Facebook) with hashtags such as ▲TreeLoveChallenge ▲OnlineTreePlanting ▲ThirtyMillionTreesPlanting ▲KB Kookmin Card. For each participant, KB Kookmin Card will sponsor one tree to the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Additionally, by planting trees through comments using tree emoticons on the Tree Love Challenge event page operated by KB Kookmin Card and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, one tree will be sponsored for every 10 commenters.

The trees sponsored through the campaign will later be used for Seoul's urban tree planting projects, including the creation of forests to reduce fine dust.

Furthermore, KB Kookmin Card plans to link volunteer activities involving its employees, where employees will grow indoor air-purifying companion trees themselves and deliver them to major child care facilities and vulnerable groups affected by fine dust.
