According to NHK on the 1st, the number of new COVID-19 infections announced by Japan's prefectural governments and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as of 5 p.m. was 112 cases across 17 metropolitan areas, including 66 cases in Tokyo.
As a result, the total number of confirmed infections in Japan has been tallied at 2,341. This figure includes those identified during airport quarantine and returnees on charter flights.
