[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party criticized Sim Sang-jung, leader of the Justice Party, for calling the controversy over her party's proportional representation candidate No. 1, Ryu Ho-jeong's 'proxy gaming' issue "an incident from her early university years," labeling it a 'thoughtless remark.'

On the 31st, Lee Jun-ho, youth spokesperson for the United Future Party, said in a statement, "Although a mistake was made, Sim's comment that it was not a problem because it happened during university is a case of 以訛傳訛 (a lie mixed with another lie)," expressing his criticism.

Earlier that day, Sim appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "We had already verified Ryu candidate's proxy gaming controversy within our party. It was an incident from her early university years, and she has deeply reflected, apologized, and taken responsibility. We accepted it because we believed she would not repeat such a mistake."

In response, Lee said, "Even if Ryu candidate's actions were a youthful indiscretion during university, it clearly hurt the people," adding, "Those who have hurt the people do not deserve to represent them. It is even less acceptable because it happened during university years," urging Ryu to resign.
