A was classified as a contact after waiting in the same time slot in the waiting room of a certain internal medicine clinic in the city with Jeonnam's 7th confirmed case on the 23rd. At that time, the COVID-19 test result was negative, and the self-quarantine period was from the 24th to the 7th of the following month.

While the city health center was conducting active monitoring by phone twice a day, morning and afternoon, when they could not reach A on the 30th, the responsible official visited A's home and detected the unauthorized departure.

A stated that after lunch that day, feeling frustrated, he went to a nearby park wearing a mask from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A Mokpo City official said, “A did not have contact with anyone in the park and has no separate symptoms, and although he admits the violation and is reflecting on it, since the violation of duty is clear, it is regrettable but we have no choice but to report him. Self-quarantine is to protect our family, neighbors, and community safety. It is difficult, but it must be followed,” he emphasized.
