[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Jinju City, Gyeongnam announced on the 31st that it has been operating convenience buses for arrivals at Incheon Airport and conducting COVID-19 diagnostic tests on all overseas arrivals since the 27th.

As the proportion of confirmed cases imported from overseas has rapidly increased recently, the city is conducting tests on all arrivals, including asymptomatic individuals, to strengthen safety management for overseas arrivals residing in the area.

To this end, convenience buses departing from Incheon Airport at 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 10:30 PM are operated so that overseas arrivals can get tested immediately upon arrival in Jinju and stay in 'safe accommodations' until results are available within 24 hours.

Since the 27th, there have been 85 overseas arrivals in Jinju City, of whom 57 have tested negative, and 28 are awaiting results in safe accommodations.

Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, "We are providing transportation for overseas arrivals to fundamentally block the local spread of COVID-19," and added, "We ask citizens to cooperate by encouraging family, relatives, and acquaintances arriving from overseas to voluntarily get tested."
