[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Gangjin-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 31st that it will provide Gangjin Love Gift Certificates for temporary living support early next month to eligible recipients such as basic livelihood security recipients and legally designated near-poverty groups in order to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the nationwide spread of COVID-19 and social distancing campaigns, and to promote the livelihood stability of low-income vulnerable groups.
The number of Gangjin Love Gift Certificate recipients is approximately 5,617, and the payment amount varies depending on eligibility and household size. The total payment amount reaches 1.257 billion KRW.
The county plans to provide gift certificates to 2,951 low-income temporary living support recipients, 1,186 children eligible for child allowance (under 7 years old), and 1,480 elderly public work participants.
The low-income temporary living support project targets basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups, providing Gangjin Love Gift Certificates worth approximately 6.8 to 8.8 million KRW for a two-person household.
The temporary child-rearing support project provides Gangjin Love Gift Certificates worth 400,000 KRW per child to households with children eligible for child allowance (under 7 years old).
Elderly participants in public work activities who apply to receive part of their activity allowance (30%) in gift certificates along with their salary upon the resumption of normal operations following adjustments to the crisis alert level will receive an additional incentive (about 20% of the salary) in gift certificates after May.
To help revitalize the depressed local economy, the county encourages recipients to use the provided gift certificates preferably by July.

Meanwhile, the county is actively participating in overcoming the crisis caused by COVID-19 by promoting measures such as a 50% reduction in rental fees for public property, a 50% discount on water and sewage charges for two months, and a 10% special discount sale of Gangjin Love Gift Certificates.
