[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] YouTuber Song Dae-ik has broken up with Lee Min-young, who was known as his girlfriend.
On the 30th, Song Dae-ik uploaded a video titled "We Broke Up" on his YouTube channel.
In the video, Song Dae-ik said to his subscribers from inside a car, "I have something I want to say to you all," and "To get straight to the point, Min-young and I have decided to take some time apart."
The two were a public couple who started dating after meeting through broadcasting.
He said, "I am having a hard time organizing my thoughts right now, so I struggled a lot with how to say this and I am very cautious, but I can't lie about my feelings in front of the camera," adding, "Even if I am struggling, I have to keep smiling on the broadcast. That is very hard for me."
He continued, "Min-young originally does YouTube because she likes herself. She enjoys appearing on broadcasts and likes that people appreciate her," adding, "But she has been hurt a lot. She has been struggling."
He then said, "From the recent stalker story I shared with you all, to the fact that I haven't done much for Min-young, she insulted me saying things like 'Dae-ik oppa is a gold digger,' 'like a venomous snake,' and 'mooches off me.' In fact, after the broadcasts, Min-young was always the one buying me meals."
Finally, he said, "Because of actions that crossed the line, Min-young was very distressed," and "We decided to take some time apart and just broke up. After this video is released, there will be a lot of speculation and unfounded assumptions, but I hope you won't do that."
Song Dae-ik is a famous YouTuber with about 1.31 million subscribers. He is also active as an AfreecaTV BJ. Last year, he won the Rookie Award and Content Award at the 'AfreecaTV 2019 BJ Awards.'
