[Asia Economy Min Jun-young, Intern Reporter] A man who threatened with thinner, demanding to be allowed to supply masks he made, was arrested by the police.
At around 11:47 a.m. on the 30th, a man carrying about 4 liters of thinner came to the General Civil Service Office on the 2nd floor of Busan City Hall in Yeonje-gu, Busan.
The man reportedly claimed that the masks he personally made were effective in preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus infection and demanded to be allowed to supply them as public masks for about 50 million won.
119 firefighters and police officers who responded to the report tried to talk with the man, but his demands continued.
The man threatened the police and public officials that if his demands were not met, he would spray thinner and set a fire.
After about an hour of standoff, the police, together with firefighters, attempted to suppress him by spraying fire extinguishers and water, and then arrested the man. The police plan to investigate the circumstances of the crime and review the level of punishment against him.
