[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] InkTec has been confirmed to have received approval to supply shielding films applied to Galaxy Watch displays and Motorola's next-generation 180 million pixel camera module products through domestic mass production companies. Accordingly, mass production of shielding films, a functional electronic material for mobile products, is scheduled to begin in the second quarter.
On the 30th, an InkTec official stated, "We are preparing for mass production according to the schedule following the mass production approval from the upstream companies, but we are responding with various scenarios due to COVID-19," adding, "Currently, it is a period of building various references for the products."
InkTec's shielding films are largely applied to camera modules, display modules, and automotive electronic parts. The company is also encountering new opportunities in the automotive electronics sector. Since various products are essential for automotive shielding, steady growth is expected in the future.
Since receiving final mass production approval from Company H in April last year and starting deliveries, InkTec has continuously expanded the range of applied items. InkTec is a practical beneficiary of the localization of Japanese materials and has succeeded in localizing electromagnetic interference shielding film materials this year, expanding the application targets to smartphone parts and automotive electronics.
