Kia Motors Launches 2021 Soul and Soul EV with Remote Start Smart Key System

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Kia Motors is launching and starting sales of the 2021 Soul and Soul Electric Vehicle (EV) on the 23rd, featuring advanced convenience options as standard and enhanced product competitiveness.


Kia applied advanced intelligent driving safety technologies such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and High Beam Assist (HBA) as standard on the 2021 Soul to improve driving convenience and safety. Additionally, reflecting customer demands for advanced technology, a remote start smart key is included as standard across all trims.

Furthermore, the 2021 Soul EV is equipped with optimized batteries for each trim based on analysis of driving patterns of electric vehicle buyers. The Prestige trim features an urban-type battery with a combined single-charge driving range of 250 km to meet the needs of customers prioritizing economy, while the Noblesse trim is equipped with a standard battery offering a driving range of 386 km to enhance satisfaction for long-distance drivers.


In addition, Kia strengthened product competitiveness by applying various convenience features such as Rear Occupant Alert, Air Purification Mode, and Passenger Safety Power Window to the 2021 Soul and Soul EV.

The prices for the Soul are 19.10 million KRW for the Prestige trim, 21.01 million KRW for the Noblesse trim, and 22.93 million KRW for the Noblesse Special trim. The Soul EV is priced at 41.87 million KRW for the Prestige trim and 48.34 million KRW for the Noblesse trim. After applying electric vehicle purchase subsidies, the prices are 29.93 million KRW and 35.64 million KRW respectively (based on combined government and Seoul city subsidies).


A Kia Motors official stated, "The 2021 Soul is prepared as a gasoline model with standard safety and advanced convenience features preferred by customers, and as an electric vehicle model optimized for actual user needs. We will continue to approach customers with excellent products and diverse marketing."
