[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Kim Da-mi, who gave a passionate performance as Jo Yi-seo in "Itaewon Class," participated in the campaign encouraging voting for the 21st National Assembly election.

In the video released by the campaign on the 20th, Kim Da-mi received a 'voting gift set' and filled in the word HOPE in the phrase ‘NO VOTE NO ()’ on the voting T-shirt.

She said, "I wanted to use the word 'hope,'" emphasizing, "I used the word 'hope' to mean that your vote is essential to dream of a greater and beautiful hope for the Republic of Korea." She also picked a voting mark engraved on a dalgona candy, which symbolizes 'let's choose well.'

This campaign encourages voting for the 21st National Assembly election to be held on April 15, carrying the meaning of 'choose well and vote well.' Especially, actors and entertainers such as Go So-young, Jung Woo-sung, and Yoo Jae-suk have all volunteered their talents without any guarantee during the previous series to emphasize the importance of exercising the right to vote, which is a citizen's right.

This year, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, instead of group shooting, the 'voting gift set' boxes were delivered individually for filming.

Kim Da-mi also appeared alone in the filmed video. She stressed the importance of voting, saying, "What kind of Republic of Korea do you want? A country where everyone can live healthily and safely. A country where children and all people are happy and have fair opportunities."

'Choose well and vote well' is a campaign carried out at the private level by stars, planners, PDs, reporters, and others who are not affiliated with any specific organization. Directed by PD Lee Ji-seon with the support of the National Election Commission, the videos have been available since the 16th with Lee Soon-jae's episode and can be seen on the National Election Commission's SNS, YouTube, and portal sites until early April.

Meanwhile, actress Kim Da-mi recently received praise for her acting in the JTBC drama "Itaewon Class," where she played the role of Jo Yi-seo. The final episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 16.5% and 18.3% in the metropolitan area, setting a new personal record.
