[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] On the 20th, a netizen who identified herself as a mother of two daughters living in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, claimed that her 25-month-old daughter was sexually assaulted by a 5th-grade elementary school student, and the post received over 200,000 endorsements.
The petitioner stated in the post, "I tried to resolve this amicably, but I feel very wronged and it is hard to handle alone." She added, "The 5th-grade son of a neighbor who usually interacted with us and lived in the same apartment came over to play with my daughter on the 17th and stayed overnight at our house." She further noted that the next day, when changing her daughter's diaper, she noticed swelling in her daughter's genital area.
She continued, "My daughter said, 'Oppa hit me,' so I took her to the hospital, where they found injuries and recommended a detailed examination later. The night before, I also saw a sexual text message alert on this student's phone before he went to bed."
The petitioner pointed out issues with the student's parents' attitude, describing the situation as, "When I informed the student's parents, they said their son did nothing wrong and that my daughter was the problem, questioning why I was making such claims without evidence."
As of 2:30 PM on the 21st, this petition had received 200,000 endorsements, meeting the official response requirement of the Blue House.
