Performance at Daehangno AlgwaHaek Small Theater from 8th to 12th Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The non-verbal comic play "Junk, Clown" by the theater company "Geukdan Hyeonjang" will be performed from April 8 to 12 at the Al and Haek Small Theater in Daehangno.
"Junk, Clown" is a non-verbal mime play performed solely through body movements without dialogue. Four actors appear on stage, portraying a pantomime that views and utilizes discarded junk from a new perspective.
Since its premiere in 2017, it was officially invited as the "Outstanding Work of the Year" at the ASSITEJ (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People) Winter Festival in January last year, and received great acclaim from domestic and international performance planners at the K-PAP (Korea Performing Arts Platform) showcase. Subsequently, it was invited by the Chinese side at the "K-PAP 2019" networking event and performed at the Xi'an International Children's Theatre Festival in June last year. It was also invited to the "TRG Sapporo Theatre Festival" in November through the recommendation of the Korea Small Theater Association, performing in Japan as well.
Geukdan Hyeonjang received the Best Award in the operation category of the Performing Arts Venue Resident Company Support Project for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017, and in 2019, it was awarded a commendation from the Arts Management Support Center at the "2019 Arts Management Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Arts Management Support Center.
