[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Scholarship Foundation announced on the 15th that it will provide a total of 500 million KRW in scholarships to 450 students, including out-of-school youth and children from families in urgent crisis.
The 'Seoul Kkumgil Scholarship', aimed at students enrolled in unlicensed alternative schools (middle and high school curricula) in Seoul, offers selected scholars an annual academic encouragement grant of 1.5 million KRW.
This year, a total of 100 students will be selected. With a recommendation from the principal of the alternative school, the school's scholarship officer must submit the application form and related documents to the Seoul Scholarship Foundation via email (yongsan19@hissf.or.kr) by the 10th of next month.
The 'Seoul Hope SOS Scholarship' provides academic encouragement grants to 350 children of middle school, high school, and university students from families in urgent crisis residing in Seoul. This year, the number of selected students has been increased by 150 compared to last year to strengthen the discovery of youth in welfare blind spots.
Selected scholars will receive 1 million KRW annually. Selection occurs four times a year, and the first application period this year is until April 17. After receiving a recommendation from the local district office or community center, the district officer sends the application form and related documents to the Seoul Scholarship Foundation via official letter.
