[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The Preparatory Committee for the establishment of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (Gong-su-cheo) will form an advisory committee one month after its launch and will begin full-scale preparations for the Gong-su-cheo's inauguration in July.


The Preparatory Committee under the Prime Minister announced on the 9th that it will appoint advisory committee members and hold the first advisory committee meeting at the Government Seoul Office on the morning of the 10th.


The advisory committee, established to gather opinions from various sectors regarding the organization and system design of Gong-su-cheo, related legal revisions, and other establishment preparations, consists of nine experts from the Supreme Court, Ministry of Justice, National Police Agency, Korean Bar Association, academia, and other fields.


Hong Dong-gi, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Court Administration Office; Shim Woo-jung, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Justice; Lee Gyu-moon, Director of the Investigation Bureau at the National Police Agency; and Yeom Yong-pyo, Vice President of the Korean Bar Association, are among the appointed members.


Yoon Dong-ho, Professor at the College of Law, Kookmin University; Choi Woon-sik, Representative Lawyer at the law firm Dae-ryuk Aju; Yoo Han-beom, Secretary General of the Korea Transparency Organization; Kim Gye-hong, President of the Korea Legislation Research Institute; and Lim Byung-soo, former Deputy Minister of the Legislative Office, are also serving as members.


The Preparatory Committee plans to hold advisory committee meetings once a month to continuously gather opinions. The first meeting will include a report on the progress of Gong-su-cheo's establishment preparations and related discussions.
