Assemblyman Song Gap-seok's 'Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Product Market Expansion Act' Passed in the National Assembly

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Song Gap-seok, a member of the National Assembly (The Democratic Party of Korea·Gwangju Seo-gu Gap), announced on the 9th that the amendment to the "Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Product Market Expansion Act (Act on Promotion of Purchase and Market Support for Small and Medium Enterprise Products)," which he proposed as the main sponsor, was finally passed at the plenary session of the National Assembly on the 6th.

Rep. Song said, "The amendment is expected to invigorate the market expansion of technology-centered small and medium enterprises by allowing public institutions to conduct pilot purchases of technology products developed by SMEs," adding, "It also includes measures to support budgets for on-site performance and technical verification processes of newly developed technology products by SMEs, ensuring that hard-developed technology products do not go to waste."

He continued, "Until now, even if SMEs produced technology development products with difficulty, they had no opportunity to be verified and were neglected by public institutions," and added, "I hope this will be a timely relief for SMEs affected by COVID-19."

Meanwhile, Rep. Song Gap-seok, who proposed the bill as the main sponsor, was selected in February as a "Member of the National Assembly who contributed to the development of the innovative venture ecosystem," an award given once every four years by the Venture Business Association, and received a commendation for his contribution to the development of venture businesses.
