[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Min Byung-doo, a member of the Democratic Party who was cut off (excluded from nomination), said on the 9th, "I will carefully consider and announce my position on the 15th."
Min appeared on YTN Radio's 'Noh Young-hee's Start of a New Morning' and said, "From the perspective of our party supporters, there is much skepticism, saying 'How can such a conservative place make that kind of judgment?'"
He said, "Two weeks ago, the party recommended that I not run, but I clearly stated that I could not accept that," adding, "If I am given one reason that I can accept, I will accept it."
Referring to the 'Me Too incident' that surfaced in 2018, Min said, "I have never admitted to the facts, I was deemed qualified, and the incident itself is not significant enough to affect other elections," and added, "The party said, 'After hearing the story, there is no basis to cut off the nomination.'"
He continued, " I have even candidly discussed things like 'Isn't this because I have no protective fence?'"
He then confessed, "I cannot help but raise the question of whether this is a rational and reasonable judgment in a democratic party. The disappointment among residents is very great."
