On the 8th, Yook Sung-jae appeared as a guest on SBS variety show 'My Ugly Duckling' and mentioned his family.
On that day, MC Seo Jang-hoon praised Yook Sung-jae's looks and talent, asking, "Between your mother and father, who did you inherit these from?"
Yook Sung-jae replied, "I think my looks and talent are largely influenced by my father. He is more handsome than me. He is really cool."
Yook Sung-jae shared an anecdote about his father, saying, "(One day) my father suddenly dressed stylishly and said let's go to a large supermarket. When I asked if we were going grocery shopping, he said let's just go around the tasting corner once. He said, 'Awkwardness lasts only a moment, but the benefit lasts forever.' He is very good at wrapping things stylishly."
He then mentioned his older sister. He said, "I have one older sister. I resemble my sister. She resembles our mother on the upper part of her face and me on the lower part. She has deep double eyelids. To brag a bit, she attends graduate school at Columbia University in New York. She is tall, about 170cm. She was born in 1992, so she is currently 29 years old."
Especially, when asked what kind of son he is to his mother, Yook Sung-jae answered, "I am taciturn, but I think I am like an older brother to my mother."
He explained, "My mother relies on me a lot. Wherever she goes, she links arms with me. I am taciturn, so I can't express myself as much to her."
