[Daegu·Gyeongbuk=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] A Shincheonji Daegu Church member who tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) refused to be admitted to a residential treatment center and fled, but was caught again.
According to Daegu City on the 8th, A (67), who tested positive for COVID-19, caused a disturbance in front of the Daegu Kyungpook National University Residential Treatment Center at around 8:20 p.m. that day.
The quarantine authorities judged that it was difficult for A to be admitted and took him back to Daegu Medical Center. However, during the transfer to the hospital room, A grabbed the heads of nurses wearing protective suits and fled.
Although police were present at the scene, they could not approach A, who was confirmed positive, because they were not wearing protective suits.
A was confirmed to be a member of Shincheonji Daegu Church.
Later, police wearing protective suits caught A near Daegu Medical Center at around 9:20 p.m. and readmitted him to the hospital room.
Daegu City plans to file charges against A for obstruction of business, assault, and violation of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
