Park Juhyun "United Party to be reported if satellite party support is solicited"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jeong-hwa, co-representative of the Minsaeng Party, stated on the 6th regarding the proportional alliance party being considered by the Democratic Party of Korea, “(The Minsaeng Party) firmly opposes it and has no interest whatsoever,” adding, “Please refrain from even mentioning us as a potential partner for the alliance.”
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Co-representative Kim said, “Under no circumstances will we allow the mixed-member proportional representation system, which we fought for with our lives, to be dismantled by our own hands.”
Regarding former President Park Geun-hye’s prison letter, Co-representative Kim criticized, “Former President Park, who was impeached by the will of the people and is paying the price according to the law, is once again pushing the country into the center of conflict through blatant election interference,” adding, “What is even more outrageous is that Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the United Future Party, responded by saying ‘It is a precious statement.’”
Co-representative Kim stated, “Leader Hwang, who cannot be free from the state affairs manipulation and impeachment, seems to have decided to remain a pro-Park idol until the end,” and questioned, “How can someone who wants to return to the past talk about the future, and how can a party that incites conflict talk about unity?”
Park Joo-hyun, co-representative of the Minsaeng Party, said, “There is a party that campaigns by putting forward the leader of another party. The photo featured at the top of the Future Korea Party’s homepage is focused on Leader Hwang, who is the leader of another party,” and sharply criticized, “The Future Korea Party even shares some party office staff with the United Future Party. It is not a different party.”
Co-representative Park stated, “According to Article 88 of the Public Official Election Act, we will report all United Future Party district candidates who appeal for support for the disguised party Future Korea Party’s proportional candidates,” adding, “Even if they are elected, we will invalidate them.”
