24 Villages Selected for Hwasun-gun 'Village Community Activity Support Project'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 6th that 24 village communities in the Hwasun area were selected as a result of the ‘Village Community Activity Support Project’ contest hosted by Jeollanam-do.

The Village Community Activity Support Project is a program that supports community activities when residents voluntarily form communities and propose projects needed for their villages.

This project is systematized and supported in stages: ‘Seed (Stage 1 Formation) → Sprout (Stage 2 Activation) → Fruit (Stage 3 Advancement).’

The selected village communities in the county include ▲ Seryangji Happy Village in Hwasun-eup ▲ Yeongpyeong Village in Iseo-myeon ▲ Bokjugol, the hometown of Sambok in Dongbok-myeon (three villages at the Sprout stage) ▲ Yakcho Geueuk Village in Hwasun-eup ▲ Hangye 1-ri Village Association in Hancheon-myeon ▲ Kongkong Ttwineun Haedong Village in Cheongpung-myeon ▲ Mosan Village preserving the Bronze Age in Dogok-myeon ▲ Sansa Happy Village Community in Iseo-myeon ▲ Okgu 1-gu Village Community in Baek-a-myeon ▲ and Supjeongi Sarangmoim in Dongbok-myeon.

The county plans to support the 24 village communities selected in the contest with 132.5 million won.

A county official said, “Through support projects such as consulting by the Village Community Innovation Center and training village happiness designers, we will ensure that the selected village community projects are carried out solidly,” and added, “We will do our best to revitalize village communities.”
