[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The Justice Party has decided to file a complaint with the prosecution against former President Park Geun-hye for violating the Public Official Election Act.

On the 5th, the Justice Party sent a text message to reporters stating that they would file charges against former President Park for election law violations. They judged that Park's 'message from prison' sent to the conservative camp the previous day had the intention of interfering in the election. The Justice Party plans to submit the complaint to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in the afternoon.

Sim Sang-jung, leader of the Justice Party, criticized Park's message from prison at the executive committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, saying, "As a person who must atone for betraying the trust of the people, she blatantly engaged in election interference, which is a violation of national dignity."

He added, "What is even more ridiculous is that Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the United Future Party, and Kim Hyung-o, chairman of the nomination committee, the party's leadership, appeared to be competing in loyalty, confirming that they are reverting from the Saenuri Party back to the Park Geun-hye Party."

Sim said, "The only thing left is the judgment of the people. The candlelight citizens will not tolerate the regression of the unconstitutional satellite proportional party, the Future Korea Party, and the United Future Party," adding, "We will expel the pro-impeachment conservative forces and open politics for the future."

In his message the previous day, former President Park said, "The country is in great difficulty. There may be differences and gaps that are hard to bridge, but for a better Republic of Korea, I earnestly ask all of you who held the Taegeukgi, mainly from the existing major opposition parties, to unite as one." The political circles interpret this as a call for a grand unification centered on the United Future Party.
