"Credit Card-Level Benefits"... Shinhan Card Launches 3 Types of 'Global Check'

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 5th that it has launched three types of Global Check cards equipped with premium services for customers who have a high usage rate of check cards.

Global Check is a product that provides credit card-level services to customers who prefer check cards. It is issued in three types: Korean Air mileage accumulation, Asiana mileage accumulation, and cashback.

The Global Air Skypass Shinhan Check Card accumulates 1 mileage point for every 3,000 KRW spent on weekdays and 1 mileage point for every 1,500 KRW spent on weekends at all domestic and overseas merchants, provided that the previous month's spending exceeds 200,000 KRW.

The Global Air Asiana Shinhan Check Card accumulates 1 mileage point for every 2,500 KRW spent on weekdays and 1 mileage point for every 1,000 KRW spent on weekends at all domestic and overseas merchants, provided that the previous month's spending exceeds 200,000 KRW.

Both cards also offer overseas services. A cashback of 3 USD per overseas withdrawal is provided without any previous month spending conditions. When using overseas VISA ATMs, this benefit is available once per day with a monthly limit of 10,000 KRW.

Additionally, the Global Plus Shinhan Check Card offers 0.2% cashback on all domestic merchant spending. Public transportation expenses receive 2% cashback, and Starbucks expenses receive up to 5% cashback. An integrated cashback limit applies based on the previous month's spending: 5,000 KRW for spending between 300,000 KRW and less than 500,000 KRW, 10,000 KRW for spending between 500,000 KRW and less than 800,000 KRW, 15,000 KRW for spending between 800,000 KRW and less than 1,000,000 KRW, and 20,000 KRW for spending of 1,000,000 KRW or more.

The Visa Young Premium service, which is commonly provided with both Global Air and Global Plus, is also noteworthy. Valet parking services are available at Incheon Airport and Gimpo Airport, and free lounge access is provided at Incheon, Gimpo, and Gimhae Airports. When using Hotels.com, discounts of up to 8% are offered.

The annual fee for Global Air Skypass and Global Air Asiana is 10,000 KRW, while Global Plus has no annual fee.
