[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 5th that it will hold a naming contest for the 'Northeast Area Generation-Integrated Complex Facility' to be built on the site near Chang-dong Station on Subway Lines 1 and 4 in September. The submission period is until the 18th, and the winning entry will be used to promote the generation-integrated complex facility.
This facility, which began construction in September 2018, will have two basement floors, five above-ground floors, and a total floor area of 17,744㎡. The total project cost is 48.6 billion KRW. It is a 'generation-sharing complex facility' designed as a space for young entrepreneurs and middle-aged individuals to redesign their second lives, allowing various users to share the space together.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government stated, "This eco-friendly building is the first catalyst project for the creation of the 'Chang-dong·Sanggye New Economic Hub' to revitalize the economy of the northeastern Seoul and Gyeonggi regions," adding, "It is expected to become a base for startups and job creation." After completion, the Seoul Startup Advancement Center, 50 Plus Northern Campus, and NPO Support Center will move in.
The naming contest will be conducted through the professional contest platform Loudsourcing website, and each person can submit up to three entries. The winners will be announced on April 3. The grand prize winner will receive 1 million KRW, and runners-up will receive 300,000 KRW.
