No Evidence of COVID-19 Transmission in Elevator... Myeongseong Church Associate Pastor and Seongdong District Office Female Staff Test Negative

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Following the female employee of Seongdong District Office, who was confirmed as a COVID-19 case after reportedly sharing an elevator for about one minute with the associate pastor of Myeongseong Church, the associate pastor also tested negative in both the first and second re-examinations.

Thus, the rumor of COVID-19 transmission inside the elevator appears to be unfounded.

Notably, all three individuals?the missionary’s child and the Seongdong District Office female employee, who were confirmed positive after contact with the associate pastor of Myeongseong Church?also tested negative upon re-examination, drawing attention.

Kangdong-gu announced on its website on the 3rd that the third confirmed case, the associate pastor of Myeongseong Church (52, Amsa-dong), tested negative in the second test today and is scheduled to be discharged on the morning of the 3rd.

Additionally, the fourth confirmed case (41-year-old female, Amsa-dong), who was diagnosed positive on February 28 and transferred to Seoul Medical Center, received two re-tests, both of which were negative, and was discharged and released from quarantine today.

Accordingly, among the four confirmed cases in Kangdong-gu, two have completed inpatient treatment at isolation hospitals and have been discharged.

A senior official from Kangdong-gu stated, "Although the associate pastor of Myeongseong Church, the missionary’s child, and the Seongdong District Office female employee were initially confirmed positive, it is medically difficult to determine whether the virus they were infected with was self-healed."
