[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jonghyo] Busan City announced on the 3rd that it is recruiting participants for the ‘Busan Youth Dream Car Project,’ part of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s regional-led youth job project, in collaboration with Busan Economic Promotion Agency, Renault Samsung Motors, and BNK Capital.
The ‘Busan Youth Dream Car Project’ is a program designed to increase employment incentives for young people newly hired by small and medium-sized enterprises in transportation-vulnerable industrial complex areas (Gangseo, Gijang) by partially supporting the lease cost of electric vehicles (SM3 ZE), thereby alleviating commuting difficulties.
This year, the Busan Youth Dream Car Project will support a total of 130 participants. From March 2 to April 3, the first round of participants will be recruited, selecting 65 people. Busan City will directly support 228,000 KRW of the monthly lease fee for two years, while young participants will pay 181,000 KRW if aged 26 or older, and 202,000 KRW if under 26.
Eligibility requires residency in the Busan area and employment as a young worker (aged 21 to 39) at small or medium-sized enterprises in Gangseo-gu or Gijang-gun. Applicants must meet all conditions including being newly employed or scheduled to be employed within one year from the announcement date, and having held a driver’s license for more than one year. For detailed information, refer to the announcement on the Busan Job Information Network.
A Busan City official stated, “Since this project is implemented to resolve commuting difficulties for young people in the industrial complex areas of Gijang and Gangseo-gu where public transportation is inconvenient, we ask for active participation from eligible youth.”
