Gurye-gun Installs Drive-Through Screening Clinic

Gurye-gun Installs Drive-Through Screening Clinic

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Mi-seok] On the 2nd, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 29th of last month, in order to minimize the risk of infection among reporters and the exposure risk to medical staff, and to prevent the identity exposure of test subjects, a mobile screening clinic was installed to conduct COVID-19 infection tests.

The newly installed mobile screening clinic, in addition to the existing two locations (one at the Health and Medical Center and one at Gurye Hospital), operates on a drive-through basis, allowing people who come for testing in their own vehicles to complete all tests inside their cars without having to get out.

Due to the increase in users of the screening clinics and the lengthening of the waiting process, the county installed an additional drive-through screening clinic within the Gurye-gun Health and Medical Center to prevent cross-infection and improve testing convenience.

With this method, the entire process?from filling out the questionnaire, measuring body temperature, medical consultation, to specimen collection?is conducted while the person remains inside the vehicle. The total testing time is reduced from the previous one hour to within 10 minutes.

A Health and Medical Center official said, “Through the operation of the drive-through screening clinic, we will strive not only to shorten the time but also to conduct safer testing,” and added, “We ask all residents to wear masks when going out until this situation ends and to strictly follow infection prevention guidelines such as proper handwashing.”
