[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Han Seok-jun, a broadcaster and former KBS announcer, has attracted netizens' attention by revealing the salary he received while working at KBS.


In July of last year, Han Seok-jun appeared on a YouTube broadcast and candidly disclosed the welfare system during his time at KBS.


When asked, "KBS is a very good workplace, but what is the best aspect?" he replied, "First of all, the four major insurances are provided, and there is retirement age guarantee," adding, "With retirement age guarantee, it is easier to get loans from banks and the interest rates are lower."


When asked about his net income after withholding tax, he answered, "After taxes, I received around 8 million won per month."


He explained, "KBS salary is not fixed. It fluctuates, but based on the months with higher pay, I received around 8 million won and some hundred thousand won," and added, "The last annual salary I recorded was around 86 million won."


He continued, "I joined in 2003 and left in 2015, so I worked for a full 13 years," and added, "Compared to other large companies, our (KBS) retirement age guarantee is better."


Han Seok-jun joined KBS as a 29th public recruitment announcer in 2003 and transitioned to freelance work in 2015. He is currently hosting shows such as tvN's 'Freehan 19' and Channel A's 'Doctor Zhivago.'


Recently, he attracted attention by appearing on KBS 2TV's 'The Return of Superman' with his daughter, Sabin.
