Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung is holding an emergency press conference in the Gyeonggi Provincial Government briefing room on the 28th.
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, criticized the Shincheonji Church of Jesus for lying again.
On the 28th, Lee posted on his Facebook under the title '# Another Lie... Please Cooperate Actively with Quarantine,' stating, "The Shincheonji side claims that 'the difference in the list is only due to whether minors are included or not,'" and pointed out, "However, among the people who are on the list secured by Gyeonggi Province through forced epidemiological investigation but not on the list submitted to the government, there are as many as 388 adults."
He also warned, "Moreover, there are three minors on the list submitted to the government, and especially, there are 197 people who are not on the Gyeonggi Province list but only on the government-submitted list," adding, "If they keep lying and distorting like this, they could face a serious situation."
He further urged, "Please do not try to deceive the public and actively cooperate with quarantine."
Earlier, at an emergency press conference held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office on the same day titled 'Disclosure of the Results of the Full Investigation of Shincheonji Believers' List Acquired by Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Province's Response Plan,' Lee announced, "As a result of an emergency full investigation conducted over two days from the 26th to the 27th on 33,809 Shincheonji Church of Jesus believers in the province, 740 people with symptoms of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed."
He added, "There is a significant difference between the list of believers related to the province presented by the Shincheonji side to the government and Gyeonggi Province and the list secured by Gyeonggi Province through forced epidemiological investigation," and "I understand that the government is conducting an investigation related to this."
