Ministry of Justice Employee at Government Daegu Office Tests Positive for COVID-19... Partial Closure of Office Building

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A confirmed case of COVID-19 has occurred at the government local joint office building in Daegu.

According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Government Office Management Headquarters and the Ministry of Justice on the 28th, one employee of the Ministry of Justice's Western Probation Center, located on the 2nd floor of Building B in the Government Daegu Local Joint Office Building (hereinafter Daegu Office) in Daegok-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, tested positive for COVID-19.

This employee, a man in his 50s, visited a church in downtown Daegu on the 16th. After hearing that a confirmed case had been reported at that church, he self-isolated. Then, when his child tested positive the day before, the employee also underwent an infection test and was confirmed positive on the 28th.

Public officials who shared the same office with this employee have been placed under self-quarantine. The Daegu Office Management Office disinfected the office where the employee worked, as well as the cafeteria, emergency stairs, elevator, and other spaces within the building, and closed the affected office.

Meanwhile, the Office Management Headquarters plans to disinfect all of Buildings A and B on the 29th.
