Gwangju Bank Overcomes COVID-19... Delivers 30,000 Masks to Jeonnam Province


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced on the 28th that it held a mask delivery ceremony at Jeonnam Provincial Office attended by Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, and other officials to overcome the 'COVID-19' crisis.


Recently, with the rapid increase in confirmed cases and deaths due to the spread of 'COVID-19' and the escalation to the highest crisis alert level, the serious stage, a mask shortage phenomenon has occurred, causing a mask crisis throughout the region.


In response, Gwangju Bank delivered 30,000 masks, which were ordered last year for fine dust protection, to Jeonnam Provincial Office, and these will be distributed to the residents of Jeonnam Province.


Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, said, "As anxiety among local residents grows due to 'COVID-19' and the local economy continues to stagnate, Gwangju Bank will do its best to fulfill its role as the representative bank of Jeonnam and Gwangju to embrace the pain of the local people and overcome the crisis facing the region together." He added, "We will actively respond to the serious stage of 'COVID-19' by doing our utmost to protect customers, local residents, and employees, as well as cooperating with related organizations to devise various measures such as financial support and take the lead in preventing the spread of 'COVID-19'."


On the same day, after delivering masks to Jeonnam Provincial Office, Gwangju Bank visited Mokpo City Hall and Suncheon City Hall to deliver sponsorship funds of 10 million won each to overcome the 'COVID-19' crisis, and plans to visit Yeosu City Hall and Naju City Hall on the 2nd of next month to deliver sponsorship funds consecutively.


In addition, following the delivery of masks to Jeollanam-do, Gwangju Bank plans to deliver 30,000 masks to Gwangju City as well.


Furthermore, on the 26th, Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation signed a financial support business agreement to overcome the damage caused by 'COVID-19' and made a special contribution of 1 billion won. Early contributions will also be made to Jeonnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and Korea Technology Finance Corporation to practice win-win management with local small business owners facing business difficulties due to 'COVID-19'.
