According to the Iksan Police Station in Jeonbuk on the 27th, at around 2:45 a.m. that day, a report of an assault dispute was received in Sindong, Iksan City, and police officers from the Sindong Police Substation were dispatched.
The police brought Mr. A (23) to the substation for investigation related to the assault dispute, but he reportedly showed fever symptoms during the investigation process.
At that time, Mr. A's body temperature was 37.8 degrees Celsius, and it was confirmed that he had recently traveled to Thailand.
When the police saw that Mr. A showed suspected COVID-19 symptoms, they immediately transported him to Wonkwang University Hospital by ambulance. The test results are expected to be available between 2 and 3 p.m. that day.
A police official stated, "The nine officers who were on duty at the time have been quarantined. The substation was temporarily closed, and disinfection of patrol cars and other equipment has been completed."
