[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Park Ji-won, a member of the Minsaeng Party, claimed that Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, "will join forces with the United Future Party because he dreams of becoming a presidential candidate."
On the 27th, Park appeared on tbs radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and said, "Ahn Cheol-soo initially aimed for a conservative grand unification but ended up founding a party through centrist unification. Aren't we now seeing signs that he will join forces with the United Future Party?"
He added, "Kim Hyung-o, chairman of the United Future Party’s public relations committee, said 'Let's meet Ahn Cheol-soo,' and Ahn replied, 'There’s no reason not to meet.' At the very least, even if full unification is difficult now, Ahn is steadily moving toward a conservative alliance," he asserted.
He continued, "They will form an alliance for candidate nominations with the United Future Party," and said, "After the general election, Ahn is calculating whether he can become a presidential candidate from the conservative camp, specifically the United Future Party. That’s why he is moving in that direction. It is clear that he is returning to conservatism."
Furthermore, Park predicted, "Ahn disguised himself as progressive to become president but failed, so now he is moving toward conservatism. In that process, he founded the People’s Party and is sending his close aides to the United Future Party."
