[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Hyundai Department Store Group announced on the 27th that it has decided to provide emergency funding worth 1 billion KRW to Daegu Metropolitan City, which is struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Hyundai Department Store Group will donate 1 billion KRW in emergency funds to the Community Chest of Korea to prevent the spread of infection and to quickly recover damages in the Daegu area, which has been designated as a special management zone due to COVID-19 damage. They also plan to provide daily necessities and hygiene products for medical staff, medical support volunteers, and quarantine personnel.
A Hyundai Department Store Group official stated, “We hope this will be of some help in preventing the spread of damage and supporting recovery in the Daegu area, which is suffering from the spread of COVID-19.”
Meanwhile, Hyundai Department Store has urgently established a 50 billion KRW Win-Win Cooperation Fund to support the management stability of small and medium-sized partner companies struggling due to the COVID-19 situation, providing interest-free loans. Partner companies in need of emergency funds can receive up to 100 million KRW per company.
