Naju City Takes Thorough Measures to Manage COVID-19 Response


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) has recently stepped up more thorough response management, including meticulously checking frontline administrative agencies, as the COVID-19 crisis alert was raised to the highest level, "Severe," and cases of contact with confirmed infections within the region have increased.


On the 25th, the city held an emergency video conference with the heads of eup, myeon, and dong (township and neighborhood) to block COVID-19, checking the status of quarantine responses such as the closure of multi-use facilities in each eup, myeon, and dong, and distribution of masks, urging an excessively proactive response, the city announced on the 26th.


In this video conference, the following were emphasized: ▲ maintaining the 24-hour operation system of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters ▲ thorough self-disinfection of eup, myeon, and dong offices and employees wearing masks while working ▲ caution in handling personal information ▲ continuous promotion of COVID-19 occurrence status and infection prevention guidelines ▲ refraining from attending ceremonies in other regions ▲ avoiding unnecessary business trips.


Accordingly, while continuing the 24-hour operation system of the Disaster Headquarters, the city plans to maintain proactive measures to block the spread of COVID-19, such as ▲ emergency disinfection of multi-use facilities ▲ distribution of hand sanitizers and masks ▲ disinfection of religious facilities.


Employees of eup, myeon, and dong offices were instructed to take the lead in complying with health guidelines for preventing COVID-19 infectious diseases, including conducting self-disinfection within the office buildings and wearing masks while working.


Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "The next one to two weeks will be a very critical turning point," and added, "I hope all employees and citizens unite as one and respond actively."


Meanwhile, regarding the issue of personal information leakage occurring in many local governments, the city urged its public officials to exercise special caution when handling personal information of confirmed COVID-19 patients.
