[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Korea Venture Business Association held its '25th Regular General Meeting' and announced on the 26th that it has finalized its business plan for this year, including the establishment of a private-sector-led innovative venture ecosystem.

The general meeting was held at the association's office in Guro, Seoul. Due to the nationwide spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the meeting was conducted with a minimized number of attendees through proxy submissions.

This year, the association plans to focus its business on two pillars: building a private-sector-led innovative venture ecosystem and strengthening practical member services. The key tasks selected for promotion include ▲leading the innovative venture ecosystem ▲enhancing venture company capabilities ▲fostering a startup culture and raising social awareness ▲strengthening member services and networks.

Additionally, the association will continue to implement the 'Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Innovative Venture Ecosystem (draft)' and carry out various support projects by strategic tasks, such as establishing local bases to support venture companies' overseas expansion.

This year's executive team consists of a total of 53 members: 1 president, 14 vice presidents, 4 special vice presidents, 7 branch heads, 26 directors, and 1 auditor.

Newly appointed vice presidents include Kim Seon-o, CEO of Geumseong Bolt Industry, and Jeong Daetaek, CEO of P&E Solution. Newly appointed directors to strengthen the executive team include Go San, CEO of A-Team Ventures; Kim Jintae, CEO of U2Bio; Oh Sanghoon, CEO of Luxrobo; Lee Seungyeop and Son Sanghyun, CEOs of SBCN; Lee Yeha, CEO of VUNO; and Lee Jeomhan, CEO of MidasSoft.

An Geonjun, president of the Korea Venture Business Association, said, "This year, marking a turning point for the private-sector-led venture ecosystem, the association will make it the inaugural year to genuinely lead the Korean venture ecosystem. We will also actively recruit venture companies pioneering new industries as executive members to become an organization that encompasses the entire venture industry."
